Alves: Accused of feigning injury

Real Madrid have reported Barcelona to Uefa for unsporting behaviour and repeated simulation by their players as the row between the two clubs escalates.

The two clubs are facing disciplinary cases from Uefa as a result of Wednesday’s ill-tempered Champions League semi-final clash at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Real are facing five charges in relation to Pepe’s sending off, Jose Mourinho’s dismissal to the stands, throwing missiles on the pitch, a pitch invasion and Mourinho’s inappropriate statement to the media after the game.

Barcelona have been charged for the red card picked up by substitute keeper Jose Pinto following a bust-up between both benches at the end of the first half.

Despite the Uefa charges Barcelona confirmed they would formally report Mourinho to Europe’s governing body for comments he made about counterpart Pep Guardiola and the suggestion that there was a refereeing conspiracy in favour of Barcelona.

Real have now hit back in the row with Barcelona by sending video evidence to Uefa of alleged play-acting from Barca players.

The capital club have accused Barcelona defender Dani Alves, who was carried off the pitch on a stretcher, of feigning injury in getting Pepe sent off.

Real are also unhappy with a number of other players play-acting throughout the game claiming they are trying to get their players in trouble with the referee.

Uefa will meet on 6th May to decide what punishments they will hand out for the various charges against both clubs.
