Musician Regrets Disappearance of Folkloric Dance Groups

28 April 2011 Luanda — The excess of public and private partnership should be taken in account so as to avoid constraints in the state budget, due to the delay of the construction process and the financial insufficiency. This was said to Angop on Thursday in Luanda by the Portuguese Audit Court Chief, António Garcia, during the conference on public and private partnerships.

Huambo — The musician Bessa Teixeira regretted on Thursday in the central Huambo province the disappearance of folklore dance group of that region.

The singer defended the urged the local culture department to draft specific project, in order to valorise and preserve traditional dances.

The singer said so to Angop on Thursday in the ambit of the celebration of the International Dance Day, to be marked on Friday 29April.

Bessa Teixeira said that the lack of financial stimulus for the maintenance of dance groups has been contributing to the disappearance of folkloric dance groups.

Bessa Teixeira mentioned some of the dances that are performed in the region are olundongo, onhatcha, okatita, elissemba and tchissossi.
