Clarence Seedorf: Footballers Should Be Role Models

AC Milan midfielder Clarence Seedorf believes that footballers play an important role both on the pitch and off it as role models for fans.

The veteran midfielder, who has won the Champions league with Ajax, Real Madrid, and Milan and has been capped 87 times for the Netherlands, is widely respected in the football community and is considered a gentleman by his peers.

“We should take this role very seriously and we should be more careful with the way we behave on and off the pitch,” said Seedorf, according to Soccerway.com. “I believe that this is the role of football players in a modern society.

“You know that I take these things to heart, teaching something to kids in a natural way. I hope that many other players will do the same, realizing that this is our role and that can make a difference for a lot of people.”
