Luanda — The secretary of the MPLA Politburo for Information, Rui Falcao Pinto de Andrade, said Monday in Luanda that it will be the Central Committee of the ruling party to decide on the candidate list to submit to elections, as well as its leader, after the extraordinary congress.
He stated that the consensus emerge only after the debates and “they were transferred to the Central Committee that will decide after the extraordinary congress.”
Asked about the existence of a profile for a future candidate to replace the party leader, he replied that this is a work that has already been undertaken for many years.
The future candidate should be a leader of the party, should meet the technical point of view conditions to work this level of responsibility as well as having an ethical, moral and civic blameless.
He believes that the party leader, Jose Eduardo dos Santos, will eventually be the head of the list, but the party leadership will consider the matter without reservation.
