Shabelle Media Network (Mogadishu) 24 April 2011 Mogadishu — One of Somali parliament lawmakers on Sunday said that people of lawless Somalia are facing both conflict and drought ordeals. Khalif Jirre Warfa, a Somali legislator, said in an interview with Shabelle Media Network that the ordinary civilian people live in desperate living conditions caused by the drought that hit many regions in southern and central Somalia. He spelled out people and domestic animals started to perish of starvation and thirst as seasonal rains have failed in last two years

Dhusamareb — Heavily armed Al shabaab fighters have abandoned the town of Dhusamareb in central Somalia hours after takeover.

Reports from the town of Dhusamared suggested that Al shabaab fighters have stormed and entered several houses and Ahlu Sunna administrative buildings in the town.

Reports indicated that Al shabaab fighters took several local residents with them as their fate can’t be predicted.

Ahlu Sunna fighters are on just outside of Dhusamareb and expectedly, they will return back to it.

Hours from now, Al shabaab fighters on Saturday launched a premeditated attack on Dhusamareb town in Galgudud region central Somalia where Ahlu Sunna Waljama ASWJ had been controlling. But later deserted.

Precarious calm is reported to have returned to the town as how the situation will be remains unpredictable.
