People Perish of Hunger And Thirst in Somali Region Under Ethiopia

Qodqod — At least 9 people have perished of starvation and thirst in Somalia region under Ethiopia control, reports said on Saturday.

With the drought in many regions in war-devastated Somalia and Somalia region in eastern Ethiopia are experiencing the toughest after seasonal rains failed, people and domestic animals started to die of hunger.

Regions in Somalia’s region under Ethiopia administration have hit by severe drought as people there are complaining about shortages of water.

Local said most of lagoons and wells have already dried up. No aid agencies have reached at those areas to help the drought stricken people in those areas.

Further more, one tanker of water costs US $ 500 and that shows which level the shortage of water the region is experiencing.
