23 April 2011 Huambo — The coordination of the Paralympics Committee in Huambo holds Saturday in the village of Mungo city, 150 kilometres north off Huambo city, sitting volleyball games, soccer with crutches, wheelchair basketball and athletics races, as part of the programme for prospecting athletes with physical disabilities. Speaking to the press, the coordinator of the committee, Jose Guilherme, said the tournament will include the participation of athletes already established and aims to encourage disabled people to be engaged in sports

Luanda — The remains of the former secretary general of the Angolan Federation of Tennis (FAT), João Nogueira Junior, who died on April 19, here, victim of an illness, were Saturday buried in the Alto das Cruzes Cemetery.

After the funeral service held in the Main Unit of Fire Brigade, the coffin of the deceased, accompanied by relatives, friends, officials, coaches, referees and players in the game, was deposited in the holy field.

In the Alto das Cruzes, before being deposited the coffin in the grave, it was read the eulogy, where was highlighted the achievements of Joao Nogueira as a player, coach and sports official.

The ceremony was conducted by Matias Castro e Silva, a former chairperson of the Provincial Association of Tennis of Namibe, and also the defeated candidate in last elections in the Federation.
