Luka Modric will not be leaving Tottenham this summer, according to the player’s agent.
Modric has continued to add to his already impressive reputation with a series of outstanding performances in the Champions League and Premier League this season, sparking reports linking the Croatian playmaker with a move away from the club, who cannot assure their star midfielder of Champions League football next season.
However the midfielder only a signed a long-term deal at White Hart Lane last May so any idea of him leaving the north London club is said to unfounded.
Nikki Vusan, Modric’s agent, believes the club are determined to keep hold of one of their more prized assets and only a bid of gigantic proportions would be considered by chairman Daniel Levy.
“They are just rumours,” Vuksan told calciomercato.it.
“I have read comments from different people on this subject, but the reality is that Luka has a long and important contract with Tottenham.
“Last summer he extended it until 2016 and he’s very happy in London. If a bid should arrive it would be up to the club to evaluate it.
“Tottenham want Modric to talk with club officials and, to my knowledge, this has not yet happened, so at the moment I can rule out any surprises.”
