Azam has played 238 games for Gloucester
Gloucester hooker Olivier Azam has been cited by the Rugby Football Union for alleged foul play.
The France international faces a charge that he struck Northampton Saints lock Adam Eustace with his head during his side’s 27-15 win on Tuesday.
The 36-year-old escaped punishment during the game but has now been reported by citing officer Wade Dooley.
Azam will appear at the disciplinary panel on Wednesday, which will also see Saints lock Mark Sorenson.
Sorenson has been reported for a dangerous tackle on Newcastle forward Tim Swinson during his side’s 22-15 victory last Friday.
If Azam is found guilty he could be unavailable for next month’s Premiership play-offs.
He has a chequered disciplinary history, having served a 12-week ban in 2009 for kicking Saracens’ Steve Borthwick and a nine-week suspension in the same year for eye gouging.
