The dates have been announced for the FA Cup semi-finals with Manchester City’s tie against fierce rivals Manchester United taking place on Saturday April 16 with a 5:15pm kick-off.

Meanwhile, Bolton Wanderers will face Stoke City the following afternoon, with a 4pm kick-off.

Roberto Mancini’s side have struggled to overcome previous teams in this season’s competition, requiring replays against Leicester City and Notts County and could only grind out a win against Reading last weekend. Their most comprehensive victory came in the form of a 3-0 thrashing of a depleted Aston Villa side.

United have found the going slightly easier despite facing tougher opponents. They started with a win over Liverpool, which was followed by victories against Southampton and Premier League rivals Arsenal.

York City were the first team Bolton faced, winning 2-0, but Owen Coyle’s side needed a replay to dismiss fellow Premier League outfit Wigan. Further wins over Fulham and Birmingham City have earned them a place in this season’s semi-finals.

Stoke began their cup campaign with a replay win against Cardiff and followed up with victories over Wolverhampton, Brighton and West Ham United.
