Troubled actor Mel Gibson has been distracting himself this week from the ongoing legal rumblings with his ex Oksana Grigorieva with a trip to a rainforest.
The 55-year-old actor, pictured here on Wednesday, has travelled to Guatemala in Central America to get away from it all.
There he joined Prince Albert of Monaco and took part in a private fund-raising trip to help protect a tropical rain forest and ancient Mayan ruins in the remote north of the country.
It comes ahead of his expected court appearance in Los Angeles on Friday, where he is expected to plead no contest to a charge of simple battery against Oksana.
Gibson will reportedly avoid jail after striking a plea deal in relation to charges stemming from an alleged domestic violence incident which involved the Russian-born musician.
The Australian actor, 55, has struck an agreement with Los Angeles prosecutors in the looming criminal case, according to U.S. reports.
