Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed injured winger Nani will not return to action until next month.
Nani was forced off with a gashed shin during last weekend’s defeat at Liverpool following a reckless challenge from Jamie Carragher.
The Portugal winger will miss this weekend’s FA Cup quarter-final with Arsenal as well as next week’s UEFA Champions League clash with Marseille.
Ferguson does not expect Nani to be available again until after this month’s international break, meaning he will also miss the Premier League game with Bolton next weekend.
Infection
The Scot believes treatment on the injury has gone well, with the visit to West Ham on 2nd April his likely return date.
“We have managed to stitch the injury, which is good news,” said Ferguson.
“We need to guard against infection and swelling.
“It is difficult to say exactly when he will be ready to return but we won’t get him back for the Bolton match next Saturday.”
