Four political parties will participate in the planned gubernatorial debate organized by Kano chapter of the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), chairman of the institute Alhaji Sule Ya’u Sule said yesterday.

The live television debate, according to him, will hold on March 20 from 10pm to 12pm.

Sule said during a courtesy call on Kano State Commissioner of Police Alhaji Tambari Yabo Mohammed that the debate would afford members of the public to know the kind of political parties they will vote into power in the upcoming general elections.

Sule, who is also Senior Special Assistant to Governor Ibrahim Shekarau on Media and Public Relations, listed the parties to participate in the debate as follows Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), People’s Democratic Party (PDP), All Nigeria People’s Party (ANPP) and Congress for Progressive Change (CPC).

In his response, the Commissioner of Police, Alhaji Tambari Yabo Mohammed applauded the idea as capable of adding value to democracy not only in Kano but also in the country as a whole.
