Blackburn Rovers boss Steve Kean satisfied his future is secure & hopes players will commit to new contracts

Blackburn Rovers boss Steve Kean has brushed aside speculation that his job is under pressure after a string of poor results and has praised the stability he has been granted at the club.

Rovers have lost four of their last five games and it had been mooted that he could be next for the managerial scrapheap, but Kean does not fear for his job.

He told ESPN:  “The stability they’ve given me is fantastic. Do I feel safe? Yes, I do.

“It’s also good for the players. We’ve so many who are out of contract in the summer, so the fact they want to back me through my contract allows me to sit down with the lads, like I did in the transfer window.

“They might not want to sign a new contract if someone else is coming in.”
