Roberto Mancini believes that March is a “key month” that will shape the future of Manchester City.

The Italian says that with some work, Eastlands may be able to see some silverware for the first time in decades.

And the last time that City won a trophy was back in 1976, when they won the League Cup final by beating Newcastle United 2-1.

“This month is a key month for us because it can change our future,” Mancini said, according to The Mirror.

“At the moment we have a big chance to try and win something. We can’t win anything now, but in May, if we come through these next 20 days in the FA Cup and the Europa League, then we will have two options.

“I don’t think the fact that it is 35 years since the club last won a trophy gives us extra motivation. Our motivation is to try and win our first trophy because if we win one, we will win more trophies in the future.

“I’ve only been here for one year so it’s not a problem for me. When I accepted this job I knew it would be difficult. For me, it is a big challenge, but I’m sure we will win something.”
