With so many knives in the kitchen, it was only a matter of time before one of the Masterchef contestants ended up in a nasty accident.
Contestant Kennedy Leitch needed emergency medical attention after he accidentally sliced off the top of his finger during a task.
The classical cellist, 33, was cutting vegetables with a potato peeler when he lopped off the end of his middle finger.

Of all eight fingers he has, Leitch admitted the one he injured was the most crucial to his career as a cellist for the Royal Scottish National Orchestra.
Doctors ended up gluing the top of his finger back on during the outdoor task in Scotland.
Leitch was leading a team of five – half the remaining contestants in the current series of the BBC1 show – when the incident happened.
They were preparing lunch for 100 competitors at the Invercharron Highland Games, which took place last autumn.

Leitch was helping to peel 20 kilograms of neeps and tatties to accompany a venison dish when he ended up injuring himself.
He said: ‘It was the middle finger of my left hand, which is the worst hand for a cellist to hurt.’
The current series of Masterchef has caused upset with some fans, who complain it has been turned into a X Factor-style show for foodies.
Around 20,000 applied to take part in the latest series and producers selected the best to ‘audition’ in front of judges – chef John Torode and former grocer Gregg Wallace – for just 20 places.
Hopefuls attempt to cook under pressure before displaying their dishes in front of the judges who were sat on a bench akin to the X Factor panel.
Leitch’s injury will be shown in tonight’s episode of Masterchef, which will be screened on BBC1 at 9pm.
