Two powerhouses on the African continent, Kumasi Asante Kotoko of Ghana and Asec Mimosas of Cote d’Ivoire, are billed to square it off in a fierce contest soon.
Talks are currently ongoing for the two clubs to play friendly games at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi in February 2011. Kwame Baah Nuako, Kotoko’s International Relations Officer said the talks look fruitful so far.
According to him, both clubs have agreed to lock horns with each other to test their might. Mr. Nuako said so far the date for the contest is yet to be agreed upon by both powerhouses. He disclosed that two dates, February 13th and 20th, were being considered by the two clubs.
The high profile friendly game, he said, is aimed at putting Kotoko in shape during the long league break. The Kotoko man stated that more friendly games have been lined up for the club, urging fans to patronize those games.
