Secretaries and staff at the office of out-going Minister of Youth and Sports, Akua Sena Dansua were last Monday shocked to the marrow when they reported to work and found at the doorstep of the Minister’s office very strange items that had something fetish and ‘juju’ about them.
The Staff indeed found to their amazement some powdery substances and feathers believed to be ‘juju’ sprinkled in front of her office door. The minister is winding up to hand over to new minister who takes over from her.
One of the secretaries mustered courage and used her mobile phone to take pictures of the items that looked spiritually contrived to harm the Minister who has been re-assigned to the Tourism Ministry.
To date, the staff are unable to comprehend the motive of those who planted the weird ‘juju’ stuff at their Madam’s office.
The once embattled Minister during whose time the Black Stars brought glory and honour to Ghanaians by reaching the quarter-finals of the 2010 World cup in South Africa, is on record as having done a lot to bring about changes at the ministry and also succeeding in breaking a long-standing and entrenched visa-racketeering that saw the ministry as a goldmine.
The staff were however unable to speak to this reporter who was at the ministry on Tuesday, on grounds that they are public servants who do not speak to the media.
The out-going minister, when contacted, said she was surprised that some people have decided to engage in spirituality ostensibly to harm her. She could not understand the rationale behind such a devious act by faceless individuals who obviously have an axe to grind with her.
She declined further comment but said she was not afraid, for she believes in the living God who has powers superior to any other on earth.“I know my God is alive and so I have nothing to fear” she said, adding that as at the time of their evil intention, she was in her constituency to interact as usual with the people.
