A senior official of the Ghana Football Association has told KickOffGhana.com there is absolutely no truth in reports that Marcel Desailly is being considered again for the Black Stars coaching job.
The former France captain was shortlisted for the job but pulled out one week before facing an interview panel, claiming the process had dragged on for too long.
There have been many reports in the last one week suggesting the Champions League, European and World Cup winner is back in the race again; but a top official of the GFA says that is not correct. Asked if there was any truth in the Desailly rumours, the source responded ‘absolutely not’.
The eight-man search committee put together by the Ghana Football Association to look for a new coach has decided on who the new man will be and will forward the name to the executive committee for their approval or otherwise before making an announcement in two weeks.
Former Portugal coach Humberto Cuelho, Goran Stevanovic and Herbert Addo are three of the coaches who were interviewed for the job; but rumours that former coach Milovan Rajevac could be making a shock return have simply refused to go away. kickoff
