Hearts of Oak Agree Terms With Soulama Abdoulaye

Accra Hearts of Oak have reached an agreement with ex-Kotoko goalkeeper, Soulama Abdoulaye on a three year deal, sources close to Allsports.com can confirm.

The deal is going to be in the region of GHC 40,000 to GHC 35,000.

The 34-year-old shot stopper, was released early this month, following a difficult season with the Porcupine Warriors, coupled with bribery allegations for their loss against Barrack Young Controllers (BYC) of Liberia in the CAF Champions League.

Talks between the two parties is almost concluded, with the Burkinabe import agreeing to join, Hearts of Oak on his return from international assignment, subject to medicals.

The 2013 African Cup of Nations silver medalist signed for the league champions in 2007 from Asfa Yenega, winning four league titles and an FA Cup.

The former Kotoko vice skipper’s move to a rival club could have sparked much controversy, but in this case he is on a free transfer, which permits him to join any club of his choice.

Similar thing happened in 1983, when the then skipper of the Porcupine Warriors, Opoku Afriyie moved to Hearts of Oak, after he was surprising put on transfer by the then chairman, Yaw Bawuah, due to power play.
