Genevieve Nnaji, Chika Ike, Other Nigerian Celebrities Mourn Dora Akunyili

Tributes have continued to pour in following the death of Prof. Dora Akunyili, former DG of NAFDAC/ex-minister of Information who passed away on Saturday, June 7 in an India hospital after a 2-year battle with cancer.

Nigerian celebrities have joined the list of those who have paid tribute to Dora, a woman who committed her service to her country Nigeria.

Top Nollywood actress, Genevieve Nnaji took to instagram to pay tribute to the deceased. She shared a photo a photo of Dora with the caption, “We’ve lost yet another brave soul, a fighting spirit and a woman of virtue. Rest easy Aunty Dora. The Lord clearly needed you more. #RipDoraAkunyili.”

Chika Ike also took to social media to mourn the late icon. She tweeted:

Popular Nollywood director, Lancelot Imasuen wrote on his Facebook page, “Hastily, let’s gear up to make positive impact on the sand of time…in whatever position we find ourselves. Let’s make haste for good….two great giants falling at same period….and my worry, the bad and evil spoilers of the land still standing strong waiting to carry out more of their evil enterprise. God I look up to you!!! Save our land and nation. I mourn Mama Nafdac…and mama Nollywood.”

Former Miss Nigeria, Omowunmi Akinnifesi also shared a photo of Dora with the caption: “I will miss you aunty Dora Akunyili. A woman of truth. A role model to Nigerian Women. She did so much for Nigeria. May her soul rest in perfect peace. Amen.”

However, Dora’s family members has said her body is expected to arrive in Nigeria this week.
