L-R: Thomas Partey, Kudus Mohammed and Benjamin Asare are key players in the Black Stars L-R: Thomas Partey, Kudus Mohammed and Benjamin Asare are key players in the Black Stars

As the 2026 FIFA World Cup squad announcement draws near, a number of Black Stars regulars are assured of selection.

Head coach Otto Addo is expected to name the final squad for the Mundial by June 1, 2026, as preparations and camping begin for the tournament.

While competition for places in the squad is expected to be fierce, a core group of players appear certain to feature when coach Otto Addo names his final team for the global showpiece.

These players will feature in the squad provided none of them suffer a serious injury during the season that could rule them out.

One of the standout names is team captain Jordan Ayew who currently plies his trade with Leicester City. He was among the top scorers in the World Cup qualifiers and is expected to lead the attack.

In-form Manchester City winger, Antoine Semenyo has cemented his place in the squad, thanks to his blistering form in the Premier League.

This season, the former Bournemouth attacker has scored 13 goals and provided four assists in the 2025/2026 campaign. Across all competitions, he has made 29 appearances, netting 15 goals and registering five assists.

Accra Hearts of Oak’s number one goalkeeper, Benjamin Asare, is also among the players certain to make the squad following his impressive performances.

His displays in the Ghana Premier League have been outstanding, with multiple clean sheets and excellent saves to keep his side competitive.

Asare is currently the first choice goalkeeper for the Black Stars.

Tottenham Hotspur attacker, Kudus Mohammed, despite his injuries will make the list for the World Cup.

He has been one of the most committed players in the team, regularly honoring call-ups and giving his best to elevate the squad. He also impressed in the previous World Cup.

Thomas Partey, one of the team’s captains, is expected to be included despite limited playing time at Villarreal.

He played a pivotal role in midfield during the qualifiers, controlling play and scoring crucial goals to help Ghana secure qualification.

Alexander Djiku, one of the Black Stars’ best defenders, will also be in the squad. His partnership with Mohammed Salisu has been solid, and he often contributes goals from set pieces.

Athletic Bilbao midfielder Iñaki Williams is another guaranteed inclusion. His pace, strength, and goalscoring ability will be vital in augmenting Ghana’s attack, with hopes that he delivers his best performances at the tournament.
