The Madlanga Commission is expected to resume its first public hearing for 2026 on Monday, with two new witnesses due to take the stand on Monday.
The KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) Hawks head Major-General, Lesetja Senona, is expected to be back on the hot seat on Tuesday.
Senona was expected to testify last month; however, shortly after his appearance, an agreement was reached that he would appear before the commission in January.
Senona has been accused by the commission of aiding alleged criminal kingpin Vusimusi “CAT” Matlala in securing a R360-million SAPS contract.
His testimony comes after the testimony of the suspended police minister, Senzo Mchunu regarding the disbandment of the Political Killings Task Team (PKTT).
In a statement, the commission said it was expecting dozens of witnesses to testify over the next few months as the commission continues its inquiry.
The commission was established by President Cyril Ramaphosa following corruption and infiltration of the judiciary allegations by KZN Police commissioner, Lt-Gen. Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi.
The commission’s hearings continue at the Brigitte Mabandla Justice College in Pretoria.
