Actress and Metro FM radio host Thato Immaculate has finally opened up about her pregnancy journey, sharing intimate details about what she went through before welcoming her first child with husband Brandon Mthombeni.
In early September, the couple surprised their fans with heartwarming news — they had become parents for the first time. Thato and Brandon announced the arrival of their baby in a touching social media video that showed the pair hugging while Thato held a baby bottle filled with milk. The emotional clip was captioned:
“Our gift from God has finally arrived. Glory to Jesus. I love you my Dime @callherthato, this new chapter of our love story has been, IMMACULATE.”
Recently, Thato took to social media again to share more about her experience, describing the emotional highs and challenges she faced during pregnancy.
She expressed, “Hi, I’m a mommy to the most handsome baby boy and when I tell you it’s been a journey and a half to get there… you know what, I’ll just show you. I didn’t think that I could love my husband more than I already did — when I tell you my love is overflowing. Also, to my baby K, it’s honestly true what they say. Love for a child is a kind you’ve never experienced before, I am OBSESSED!”
In a candid video, Thato revealed that she managed to keep her pregnancy a secret for months. “So I fell pregnant, had a baby, didn’t tell you about it and now I’m telling you about it,” she said with a laugh. “Let’s take it all the way back to the time we told you we bought a house. Just look at how zoomed in this camera angle was — can I tell you, I was already in my second trimester fighting for my life so you couldn’t tell.”
Thato shared that by early January, she began noticing changes in her eating habits and started craving foods she normally wouldn’t eat. Her husband, Brandon, was the first to suspect that she might be pregnant. However, her first trimester was far from easy. “You people need to stop lying about pregnancy. I feel like death every day, especially at night. I feel nauseous all the time. I’m hungry all the time but everything that’s out before me disgusts me,” she admitted.
Even her favourite meals became unappealing. “I love myself a bagel, scrambled eggs, bacon from Mugg & Bean. Today I had two bites and I couldn’t do it,” she shared.
At the end of her video, Thato teased that there’s more to come, writing, “To be continued.” Fans can expect her to open up further about her motherhood journey in future updates.
On her Instagram story, she proudly wrote:
“To whom it may concern, I’m a mommy to the most handsome perfect baby boy. The love of my life and I made the love of our lives @_oflicialgashl.”
Her husband, Brandon, also shared his gratitude and joy with a touching message alongside moments from the hospital. He wrote, “Blessed beyond words — a beautiful, loving wife whom I adore and love with all my heart, and now a healthy, strong baby. Lord, how complete can one’s world be? Thank you for the endless grace, love, and joy You’ve poured into my life. My heart is full, my home is blessed, and my soul is grateful.”
