South African media personality Pabi Moloi has officially left Power 98.7. The seasoned broadcaster, who hosted the weekday Power Lunch show, confirmed the news on her social media, marking the end of her journey with the station.
“Hi friends. I resigned from Power FM last month. I look forward to this new chapter,” she wrote in her announcement.
Pabi joined Power 98.7 in June 2023 after leaving 947. Her lunchtime show quickly became a platform for engaging conversations, where she hosted industry experts, media figures, and listeners, unpacking everything from lifestyle topics to deeper social issues. After more than a year with the station, she is now ready to step into a new phase of her career.
Even though she has exited Power FM, Pabi’s career remains as busy as ever. In July, she became the host of SABC3’s reality series The Insurance Apprentice. Speaking about the experience, she said: “Hosting season 11 of The Insurance Apprentice is an exciting and rewarding experience. Each episode gives me the chance to engage dynamic young professionals shaping the future of insurance. I’m inspired by their resilience and drive.”
Earlier this year, Pabi and her brother Khabane also launched a podcast called A Brother and A Sister. The project has given her a chance to connect with audiences in a more relaxed and personal format, showing a different side of her media career.
At 41, Pabi remains one of the most recognisable names in South African broadcasting. With almost two decades of experience, she has worked across major platforms including SABC and MultiChoice, while also being a sought-after MC for corporate events.
Looking back at her career, Pabi told DRUM: “I’m very fortunate. I’ve never not had a job. I’ve been on television concurrently with radio, pretty much my entire career. It has taken the last two or three years for me to realise, ‘Oh, I think I want to build something for myself.’”
Her time at Power FM may be over, but for fans, Pabi Moloi’s journey is still unfolding — and the next chapter promises to be just as impactful.
