“I Love Him Already!” – Nelisa Falls Head Over Heels in Married At First Sight Season 2 Premiere

The much-anticipated second season of Married At First Sight South Africa finally aired on Sunday, 6 July, and it’s already giving viewers plenty to talk about. The reality show introduced eight singles who are ready to marry complete strangers — all in the hope of finding true love.

So far, only two couples have tied the knot: Nelisa Ntabeni (40) and Themba Khosa (39), and Portia Baloyi (35) and Bongani Luvalo (37). But while one couple had instant chemistry, the other faced immediate disappointment.

For Nelisa and Themba, sparks flew instantly. The two couldn’t stop smiling as they met at the altar for the very first time.

“I love him already,” Nelisa said with a huge smile after seeing her groom. Themba felt the same way: “When I laid my eyes on her for the first time, like wow. I didn’t expect what I saw. The bride is beautiful. I’m happy.”

Their connection warmed viewers’ hearts, with many rooting for their love story to blossom into something real.

Social media quickly lit up with love for the pair. @PebblesNeo wrote: “OMG, the experts NAILED it with Themba & Nelisa! Best couple vibes EVER on #MarriedAtFirstSightMzansi. So genuine, so cute.”

@uLeerato added: “Nelisa is head over heels sana. Love it for her!”

Sadly, the second couple didn’t have the same luck. Portia was clearly unhappy with her match and didn’t hold back. She confessed that Bongani was not the type of man she had imagined. “I’m disappointed with what he looks like,” she said during her diary session.

At the wedding, Portia tried to stay positive, saying, “A beautiful woman. No, I am happy.” But her feelings shifted quickly behind the scenes. She revealed she had been hoping for a “tall, dark, and handsome” man. Even her sisters, Lorraine and Dineo, weren’t impressed.

“Am I worried that he’s not physically what I want? Yes. It’s going to feel like I’m forcing a connection, and I don’t want it to be like that,” she admitted.

Still, Portia decided to keep an open mind: “Even though I’m disappointed, I’m willing to give this a try. I want to see why we were matched together.”

Not everyone online sympathised. @Aurora798361 posted: “Portia, if looks are so important to you, why are you on a show where you don’t know who you’re marrying? Go find your handsome guy yourself.”

@Nyafam added: “Portia is toxic thru and thru and Bongani seems like a good guy. This lady is not ready. She is in her bubble.”

Meanwhile, other viewers are just excited to follow the drama and love stories unfold. As more couples get introduced in upcoming episodes, Mzansi will be watching closely to see which matches truly make it to the finish line.
