During a lively Youth Day celebration at Zone 6 Venue in Soweto, the stars of Youngins, Kealeboga Masango (Buhle) and Toka Mtabane (Khaya), announced that the third and final season of the popular youth drama will be coming soon to Showmax. The exact release date has not yet been shared.

Youngins has become a hit in South Africa for its real and honest storytelling that connects with young people. The upcoming season is expected to bring even more drama, emotions, and deeper stories about growing up in modern South Africa.

“Season 3 peels back the layers like never before,” said the stars, hinting that fans should get ready for even more powerful and personal moments.

In an exclusive chat with Xabiso Nggabe and Zibuyile Dladla, both actors reflected on what makes the show special.

Toka Mtabane said the show is not just fun to watch – it also teaches important lessons.

“I get why adults enjoy Youngins — it gives them a nostalgic feel, almost like a modern-day Yizo Yizo. But for young people, it’s more than just entertainment. They see themselves in us, the good and the bad, and it becomes a learning experience. It’s an educational show for kids, without a doubt: holistic and true.”

He also shared that one of the best parts of being on the show is the strong bond between the cast.

“From Season 1 to Season 2, we’ve grown so close as a cast. That growth has influenced me personally and professionally,” he said.

Kealeboga Masango spoke from the heart about why Youngins is so important to her.

“Youngins has played a big role in my life. The show tells real stories and brings authenticity to what teenagers and the younger generation go through. It’s had a huge impact on me because, finally, our stories are being told. We dive into what really happens in high school – it’s almost like educating both the older and younger generations.”

She also shared a little about what fans can expect from her character in the new season.

“In Seasons 1 and 2, Buhle was either hot or cold, there was no in-between. But this season, you’ll see her layers being peeled back. There are more vulnerable moments, and it’s going to be so beautiful,” she said.
