“My heart lies eGagasini.” These heartfelt words from Minnie Dlamini mark her return to her hometown of Durban.
The well-known radio DJ is embarking on an exciting new chapter in her career, having officially joined the popular Durban radio station, Gagasi FM.
“Durban, I’m home for a brand new chapter 🚀,” she expressed.
Dlamini, who rose to fame as a presenter, is now the co-host of the weekday drive show, The Gagasi Fastlane, which airs from 3pm to 6pm on weekdays.
She made her debut on the station on Tuesday, teaming up with the beloved duo Sphectacula and DJ Naves, affectionately referred to as “The Kings of the Weekend”.
In a video shared on Instagram, Dlamini announced her homecoming, featuring moments with her son at the beach, enjoying the waves and glimpses of her home.
“Some places never stop calling you back. Where the waves hold your memories and the wind whispers what’s next … my heart lies at eGagasini, and that’s where I return. Durban, I am home for a brand-new chapter,” she said in the video.
Although Dlamini has made a name for herself in Johannesburg, often dubbed the “city of lights”, she was born and raised in Durban.
Her return to the station follows the departure of Thandi ‘Zisto’ Mhlongo, who co-hosted The Gagasi Fastlane with Sphe and Naves, before resigning in March after seven years to join East Coast Radio.
Dlamini is no stranger to making headlines, having recently been involved in a public dispute with controversial podcaster Macgyver ‘MacG’ Mukwevho.
During an episode of his popular YouTube show, “Podcast and Chill”, Mukwevho made derogatory remarks about Dlamini’s breakup with plastic surgeon Dr Brian Monaisa.
He questioned her ability to maintain a relationship and made crude comments regarding her hygiene.

In response, Dlamini condemned MacG’s comments, stating that nothing was entertaining or provocative about exploiting a woman’s body for clout or content.
An apology was later issued to her by the attorney of “Podcast and Chill”, but the damage had already been done.
Taking the opportunity to address the public discourse surrounding her name, Dlamini expressed her intent to pursue legal action against Mukwevho.
She shared her disbelief and pain at how her name, body and dignity had been dragged through the mud due to the vile and humiliating comments made by him.
“To apologise now, only when public pressure threatens their image, is to centre their own reputational damage rather than the trauma inflicted on others. And so I must say: words without genuine accountability are hollow,” she stated.
Despite the unnecessary drama, Dlamini has also been enjoying life.
Recently, she took a break from work to indulge in a European getaway, sharing her vibrant experiences with fans through Instagram updates.
Known for her love of fashion and culture, Dlamini fully embraced her Parisian adventure, sharing captivating snippets from a city renowned for its rich history, iconic landmarks and culinary delights.
Her posts showcased elegant lunches and chic outdoor dining at local eateries, including a luxurious meal at the Ritz with her friend, Alia Ghussein.
With her return to Durban and new role at Gagasi FM, Dlamini is poised for an exciting journey ahead, both personally and professionally.
