Weishaupt aimed to alter the way states in Europe were conducted by removing religion’s influence from politics and providing citizens with a new source of “illumination.”
The first gathering of the Bavarian Illuminati is thought to have taken place on May 1, 1776, in a woodland close to Ingolstadt. The guidelines for the secret order were laid forth in this place by five guys.
