As people, we have different beliefs some people believe in traditional things while some people believe in prayer only. People who believe in praying have the belief that when someone has passed away they bury the person and move on with their lives. But for some people who believe in traditional things they’ve got the belief that when someone has passed away they have to be cleansed to get rid of the bad luck.
Because they have a belief that when someone passes away they leave a dark cloud that will bring bad luck to the family, meaning whatever caused the first death might come back again and kill someone in the family.
For instance, when some lose a child through miscarriage or abortion they have to be cleansed. According to a traditional healer who goes by the name Mam”Elle took to her social media account to share the importance of cleansing after some had a miscarriage or aborted. She says In African spirituality a fetus is regarded as a baby and when it dies via miscarriage/abortion its soul remains in the womb and attaches itself to the new baby which results in pediatric psychiatric disorders e.g. ADHD, ODD, Dyslexia, etc. To prevent this cleansing is necessary.
So explaining further the traditional healer says in most cases Some people may ask themselves after doing all the necessary things needed during pregnancy that they were told to do by the doctors they end up having a child that will suffer from something, like being a slow learner some sort of disability. They say the cause of all this some them are caused by bad spirits that were not cleansed.
