Twitter Not Happy With Petrol Attendant Nkosi Not Getting His R400k Crowdfunded In His Name! On the 30th of May 2019, Nkosikho, a petrol attendant became a good Samaritan for a stranded woman who had forgotten her bank card at home.
Being familiar with the area and not wanting the woman to be stuck, Nkosi paid R100 and asked her to return it whenever she could. The woman, Monet van Deventer did more than just return the R100. She started a crowdfunding campaign to help Nkosi who lives in Khayelitsha with his two kids, mom and brother. She set the goal amount at R100k but the money raise since is R 428k.
The story spread some positivity across all social media platforms and served as inspiration to randomly do good until the crowdfunding company revealed that the money would not be going into Nkosi’s personal account.
“NB: PLEASE NOTE Funds raised by this campaign will be administered by BackaBuddy NPC and transferred directly to the relevant institutions for Nkosi’s children’s education. Funds WILL NOT be paid into Nkosi’s PERSONAL BANK ACCOUNT,” the company announced on twitter.

The company later changed their statement saying Nkosi would now have full control of his funds.
