
In December last year, Maarohanye and his co-accused Themba Tshabalala were each sentenced to 25 years in jail.
The two were each sentenced to 20 years imprisonment for murder and four years imprisonment for attempted murder.
For use of drugs, driving under the influence of drugs, and racing on a public road, they got a year for each count, to run concurrently.

Jub Jub’s mom reportedly arrested for selling orphans. Jailed singer Jub Jub’s mother is following into her son’s footsteps spending time behind bars after she got sentenced to twelve years in prison with five suspended.

Jacqueline Ramohlola well known as ‘Mama Jackie’ was arrested and sentenced for selling two orphaned children to a couple in Mpumalanga. She sold a baby girl and a 6-year-old boy to a childless couple from KwaMhlanga for R15 000 each in 2012.
Judge Mahomed Ismail sentenced Mama Jackie to 12 years imprisonment with a 5 years suspension. Mama Jackie defended herself saying she did sell the children, she had found a suitable home for the children and that the couple donated R30 000 to the orphanage.
Mama Jackie could reportedly broke down in court after describing how she herself was once an orphan and only wanted to help children. She had been running an unregistered childcare centre in Diepkloof Soweto.
