Minnie Dlamini has established herself as the diamond girl in the South African media industry. She explained to Pearl Modiadie on the latest episode of Zaziwa why she calls herself the diamond girl and we couldn’t agree with her more.
Minnie says the name came from Rihanna’s song ‘Diamond’ because she saw herself as one after South Africa watched her become one of the most notable presenters in the country. “South Africa knows m journey, I was lump of coal and I went through all the trials and tribulation and developed until I started to shine”,m she said.
Minnie says she now sees herself as someone who’s finally arrived and refined like a shining diamond. “South Africa saw my potential to be a diamond”, she said.
The TV presenter however revealed she would never go back to the show that started it all. Asked to choose between going back to Generations or Live, Minnie chose Generations. That bad huh?!
