Mercedes-Benz Vision EQXX | Discover the electric car with a range of 1,000km –

Mercedes-Benz has finally unveiled its newest electric car, the Vision EQXX. According to the German giant, it is the zero-emission vehicle with the best energy efficiency on the market, in addition to being the most competent Mercedes when we think about the mix of consumption, performance and technology.

In an online presentation held this Monday (3rd) directly from its headquarters in Stuttgart, Germany, Mercedes was very direct about what its product will deliver to users when it reaches the market. Without delay, the automaker tried to show all the technological apparatus of the vehicle and focused a lot on the topic that most concerns when we think about electric cars: autonomy.

The Vision EQXX is an electric car capable of traveling for 1000km on a single charge, but within the European measurement, the WLTP, that is, with routes that favor the city and not the road. However, at the presentation, the automaker made it clear that its zero-emission sedan will be the ideal electric car for travel.

the most efficient

According to Mercedes-Benz, the Vision EQXX will consume approximately 10 kWh per 100km, higher than the already famous EQS, the brand’s large electric sedan that makes an average of 16 kWh. In addition to this economy, the car has a compact battery that allowed engineering to bring a car with friendly dimensions, as well as a lower weight.

To achieve this excellent autonomy, however, the company did not just invest in batteries. Every detail of the Vision EQXX was thought to improve its efficiency, such as its aerodynamic shape, materials used in the construction and also relevant technological additions, such as a solar panel located on the roof that can add 44km of autonomy to the vehicle and 3D printed parts.

“The battery has about the same amount of power as the EQS, but is half the size and 30% lighter. The battery management system and power electronics were designed with absolute focus on reducing losses. In terms of efficiency, we’ve learned a lot that will flow into future development programs,” said Adam Allsopp, technology director at Mercedes-Benz HPP, the automaker’s performance arm.

According to the brand, Formula 1 was also used as an inspiration to bring all these benefits in a relatively compact car. Mercedes, however, did not reveal the measurements of the Vision EQXX, but judging by the images, it is a medium sedan with a size similar to the C-Class, its main product globally.

Technologically absurd

The Vision EQXX not only amazes for its futuristic design and its long autonomy, the technological package used in the vehicle promises to be one of the best ever made in the automotive industry. According to Mercedes-Benz, the car will have, among other things, a new configuration of artificial intelligence, in addition to the gamification to create its user interface.

The popular “Hey, Mercedes” personal assistant has been completely redone and smarter, helping the driver with functions from the most basic things like turning on the air conditioning and lights to plotting easier, energy-saving routes.

To see all the functions of the Vision EQXX, the automaker did not save and brought a 47.5-inch 100% digital mini-LED panel and 8K resolution. On this screen we will be able to see all the vehicle information and interact with Mercedes Jelinek, the avatar of artificial intelligence Hey, Mercedes, which now also has machine learning for improvement.

Still in the field of technology, the system of internal lights with chromotherapy was improved and is more efficient, using less energy than the car.

Ecologically correct

Still on the inside, the Vision EQXX is completely in line with the requirements of an essentially green car. Its luxurious finish features synthetic materials and fabric made from recycled PET bottles.

Price and availability

Mercedes-Benz has yet to reveal the Vision EQXX’s price, versions or release date, nor the markets in which it will be present. In addition, the automaker promises to reveal performance data soon.
