Scientists use ostrich cells to make glowing masks that detect covid-19 –

The team’s goal is to continue to further develop the masks so that they glow automatically, without special lighting, if the virus is detected.

Japanese researchers have developed masks that use ostrich antibodies to detect Covid-19, but with one twist: if the virus is present, the mask glows under ultraviolet light. The discovery was made by Yasuhiro Tsukamoto and his team at Kyoto University in western Japan.
