Safety Babes, Kano Pillars consolidate on title chase — Sport — –

Safety Babes, Adorable Angels, Edo Dynamos, Plateau Peacocks and Kano Pillars all won their games in the female and male categories played yesterday, on Day 11 of the on-going Prudent Energy Handball Premier League, holding at the M.K.O. Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.

In the female category, former champions, Safety Babes defeated Confluence Queens 32 to 26, to consolidate on their lead on the table, towards winning the premier league they won in the 2018 edition.

In the other fixtures, Kada Queens lost to Plateau Peacocks 22 to 26, as Defender Babes suffered a narrow loss to Edo Dynamos 31 to 32 and former champions, Imo Grasshoppers suffered a setback as they submitted to the firepower of the defending champions, Adorable Angels 38 to 31 in a very tough encounter.

However, in the game decided in the male class, the Police Machine team was completely submerged by the ruthless Kano Pillars, who they lost to in 22 to 35 results.

Today’s fixtures will be the battle between Seasider Babes and Imo Grasshoppers in the opening match, while Edo Dynamos will tackle Plateau Peacocks in the other game in the female category.

Kano Pillars will take on Plateau Vipers, while Confluence Stars will tackle Lagos Seasiders, as Tojemarine Academy will battle Police Machine and Safety Shooters will establish themselves on the table as they take on Rima Strikers in the last fixture in the male class.
