Much of the European DP World Tour schedule was unveiled on Thursday. Among the main novelties for 2022/2023, the introduction of a guaranteed income of $150,000 for any player holding a game category from 1 to 17, in exchange for 15 tournaments played.
A measure echoing the 500,000 green tickets guaranteed this season by the PGA Tour, or even the 120,000 dollars falling into the pockets of the last of the 48 participants in each LIV Golf tournament.

While we will never lose the magic of meritocracy and the purity of a performance-based structure, it now provides revenue certainty for players who have reached the top in Europe,” says European Tour boss Keith Pelley.
. The flagship tournaments of the European circuit have seen their endowment increase, with an additional million euros for the dates of Wentworth, Abu Dhabi, the Scottish Open or Dubai, which increase to nine million in overall prize money.
The final of the DP World Tour goes to 10 million euros. In total, nearly 45 million additional euros will be offered compared to the 2021 season. A stable figure compared to the 200 million dollars distributed for the season which will soon end.
More than 144 million euros in total will be distributed from November 24, the start of the 2022/2023 European season. Two tournaments will kick off the calendar, with the Australian PGA Championship in Brisbane and the Joburg Open in South Africa.
The former is one of two Australian tournaments on the DP World Tour calendar under the strategic alliance with the ISPS HANDA PGA Tour of Australasia, while the latter is one of six co-sanctioned events with the Sunshine Tour, also as part of a strategic alliance.
Four new tournaments in Asia are also included in the 2023 calendar, with the Singapore Classic (February 9-12) and Thailand Classic (February 16-19) taking place over consecutive weeks, followed by the Tour’s first trip to Japan for the ISPS HANDA – CHAMPIONSHIP (April 20-23) and a return to Korea for the first time since 2013 (April 27-30).
In Europe, several tournaments have changed dates, including the Horizon Irish Open which will take place from September 7 to 10, while the Italian Open will take place from May 4 to 7. Marco Simone Golf & Country Club will host the 2023 Ryder Cup from September 29 to October 1.
The French Open retains its title sponsor (Cazoo) to this day and also retains its date and endowment of 2022. The oldest pro tournament in continental Europe will therefore take place at the Golf National from September 24 to 27, with 3.2 million euros of prize money.
The schedule also includes a new three-week summer break after the 151st Open Championship and the Barracuda Championship (both July 20-23), which was introduced following player feedback. According to the release from the European Tour released on Thursday, further details on the fall events will be announced in due course.
