FPL tips: Transfers, deadline, captain and scout options for Fantasy Premier League GW2

Mohamed Salah left it late, Erling Haaland made his case, Harry Kane tripped up his loyal followers, and Gabriel Jesus fooled, well, basically all of us. Gameweek 2 rears into view with the deadline on Saturday, August 13 at 11am BST.

So, with any further ado, here are out FPL transfer and captain tips for GW2…

Kevin De Bruyne – Man City – £11.6m

Haaland is a bit of an obvious option for this week – top tip: buy him! – but De Bruyne’s early signs of supplying the ammunition for the Norwegian are pretty stark ahead of facing Bournemouth at home. The Belgian’s penchant for popping up with a goal of his own is also something to consider. Captain him or Haaland.

Darwin Nunez – Liverpool – £9m

Likewise, with Mohamed Salah being hardly the most useful tip for FPL players, Nunez is our pick having come off the bench to impress in both the Community shield and Premier League opener. Surely, Jurgen Klopp has to start him for Crystal Palace at home to fully unleash the Uruguayan striker.

Patrick Bamford – Leeds – £7.5m

No longer working under Marcelo Bielsa and off the back of a nightmare injury spell, pessimists could be forgiven for doubting Bamford this season. But, a very decent display against Wolves sets him up for a trip to Southampton – a team he has scored three times against in four meetings.

Jarrod Bowen – West Ham – £8.5m

Making hasty decisions after one round of matches is a typical route of an underperforming FPL manager and binning Bowen after his weak outing versus Manchester City would not be advised, given West Ham head to a Nottingham Forest who looked worryingly porous at Newcastle. A bit of a risk, but going against the grain can reap big rewards in this game.

Oleksandr Zinchenko – Arsenal – £5.1m

A 12-point haul for the Ukrainian accounted for a very fine start to life at Arsenal for a bargain option at the back. Marked as a defender, Zinchenko can either keep tallying the assists from left-back or be moved into midfield by Mikel Arteta and keep benefiting from bigger rewards for clean sheets.
