An adorable photo of a nine-year-old Emma Raducanu winning the Scottish Junior Open (U-9) has resurfaced.

As a kid, Raducanu was one of the most talented young girls in Great Britain.

Now at the age of 20, Raducanu is one of the most popular British players. At just 18 years old, Raducanu wrote tennis history and made all the headlines after becoming the first-ever qualifier to win a Grand Slam at the 2021 US Open.

Also, Raducanu has already had a massive influence on British tennis as the interest in tennis has grown across Great Britain after her astonishing US Open victory.

Raducanu refused to be negative after the Australian Open exit

After suffering an unfortunate ankle injury in Auckland, Raducanu found herself in a race to be fit for the Australian Open.

With the help of her physio, Raducanu was able to compete at the Australian Open. Raducanu started her Australian Open run with a straight-set win over Tamara Korpatsch, before picking up a 6-3 7-6 (4) loss against Cori Gauff.

After the match, Raducanu tried to look a the positive and said she’s confident new coach Sebastian Sachs can help her elevate her game. “I would say all the chips were against us and the chances of me playing this tournament were very, very low.

I think 13 days ago, if you would have told us, ‘Hey, you’re going to be in the draw and win a round’, it would have been a massive effort for sure. Saying that, I still think I didn’t necessarily play my best today. I felt like I could have done better.

I just have to review the body right now. I’ve had some niggles in the past few months, and I just need to get that sorted, train, and then we’ll see after that. I’m really buying into and trusting the work that I’m doing with [new coach] Sebastian (Sachs) and the rest of the team.

So I’m feeling good and confident that, in six months’ time, I know it’s not going to be the finished product, but hopefully I would have made strides,” Raducanu said after her Australian Open exit.
