Arsenal transfer news LIVE: Third Caicedo bid submitted, Jorginho targeted and Rice stance on Deadline Day

Arsenal have made two signings so far this month – and Mikel Arteta isn’t done just yet.

Leandro Trossard signed from Brighton in a £27million deal, while the Gunners parted with £21m to prise Jakub Kiwior away from Spezia. With Arsenal sitting top of the Premier League, you’d think Arteta wouldn’t want to risk juggling around with his squad too much.

However, the Spaniard is keen on making a huge statement signing on deadline day, with the club heavily linked with a move for Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo. The player is keen on making the move but, so far, the Seagulls have stood firm and are understood to be demanding £90m to sell their star man.

There could be several outgoings as well, including defender Cedric Soares. Keep up to date with all the deadline day updates as they happen right here on Mirror Football…

Did someone say Jorginho?

No this really would cause a few shockwaves – not least because its a Chelsea – Arsenal switch.

The Blues have already trumped the Gunners in the market this month but could now aid their title push.

Jorginho is out of contract this summer and Chelsea have been willing to listen to offers as they look to get some cash in.

Arsenal therefore could be an option with Sky Sports reporting it is a serious consideration.

Another Caicedo bid in the pipeline

Arsenal have been unable to convince Brighton to sell up thus far.

The Times is reporting that an increased bid of £75m could be lodged.

However it looks as if the Seagulls would have to change their stance for anything to develop.

Two Brighton deals too far?

The issue for the Gunners is, they’ve already nabbed one of Brighton’s best players in Leonardo Trossard.

He fell out with his manager and was allowed to leave the Amex, but Caicedo is not in the same situation.

Roberto De Zerbi has already issued a challenge to the Brighton board, making it known that Caicedo’s exit will hamper their European ambitions.

The Caicedo situation so far

Arsenal have had several bids turned down for the midfielder, the latest of which came on Sunday night.

The player has issued a statement on social media, underlining his desire to take up the opportunity.

Brighton though have told the player to stay away from training until deadline day passes – let’s see if their method works.

So – Caicedo

There’s one name on everyone’s lips in north London – Moises Caicedo.

Arsenal want the Brighton midfielder, he’s keen on the move, but, crucially, Brighton aren’t.

They maintain they’re not selling, so we’ll see how this develops.

Ready for a busy day?

Good morning and welcome to Mirror Football’s coverage of Arsenal’s deadline day.

It’s expected to be a busy day, with the club desperate to bring Moises Caicedo to the Emirates Stadium.

Brighton, however, are in no mood to business with the north Londoners again this month after losing Leandro Trossard.

We’ll bring you all the updates, plus any other news as it drops…
