In the match valid for the quarter-finals of the doubles in Melbourne, the doubles formed by Hugo Nys and Jan Zielinski faced the French doubles made up of Arthur Rinderknech and Benjamin Bonzi. The match ended 6-1, 6-4 for the Monegasque/Polish duo, who will remember this day not only for reaching the semifinals but for Hugo Nys’s stratospheric and almost unreal point.
The 31-year-old Frenchman but naturalized from Monaco won a point that amazed his opponents, teammate, crowd and even the commentator who commented on the point as follows: “I’ve never seen a point like this in my life!” Nys, in fact, in recovering an almost impossible ball by throwing the racket in an attempt to recover the ball.

The couple Nys and Zielinski, after beating the French in straight sets, will face two other transalpines in the semifinals.
