Carlisle United midfielder Owen Moxon has won the PFA Vertu Motors League Two Fans’ Player of the Month for December.
The Cumbrians recovered from a slow start to the month and with a fine end to it in order to maintain their promotion push.
Moxon began December with an assist for Ryan Edmondson in a 1-1 draw at home to Sutton United. He was unable to help Carlisle overcome Northampton Town in a 2-1 loss later in the month, but played well in their 1-0 victory against Bradford City on Boxing Day.
His crowning moment came when he contributed a goal and assist in a 3-0 thrashing of Crewe Alexandra to round off December.
Moxon just about edged out in-form Stockport County star Kyle Wootton to take home December’s award, finishing with 23% of the vote to the forward’s 20%.
Wootton narrowly came ahead of Salford City’s Matt Smith who took home 19% of the vote, while Northampton’s Sam Hoskins finished in fourth place with 16%.
Stevenage veteran Carl Piergianni ranked fifth with 13% of votes, and Stockport’s Will Collar came in sixth with 9%.
