Stephen Gallacher appointed Captain of Team Europe for the 2023 Junior Ryder Cup He will be a Scot to lead the squad of young European players that will face Team USA in the 2023 edition of the Junior Ryder Cup. Stephen Gallacher, a four-time winner on the European Tour, was part of Team Europe’s successful defense of the Ryder Cup at Gleneagles in 2014.

This last sentence from the designated Captain anticipates the real surprise for the young players of the two Teams. The first two days, in which matches will be played in pairs, will be held at the Golf Nazionale, while the single matches will take place on the same course where in the following rounds the Team Europe led by Luke Donald and the USA Team led by Zach will compete Johnson.
As regards the composition of the team, the criteria follow those valid for the Team Europe of the “grown-ups” Six players, three boys and three girls, will earn the right qualification through a ranking that has been developed by the European Golf Association.
Ranking points, awarded using the World Amateur Golf Ranking system, will be up for grabs in a series of tournaments (list here), the latest being The R&A Girls’ and Boys’ Amateur Championship. The other six players will be the Captain’s picks.
