Casper Ruud is not concerned about his fitness level going into the Latin America Tour. Ruud, who reached two Grand Slam finals this year, last competed at the ATP Finals – where he made the final before losing to Novak Djokovic.
Now, Ruud is set to play Rafael Nadal across Latin America. On Wednesday, Ruud and Nadal will kick off the Latin America Tour in Buenos Aires. On November 25, Nadal will face Chilean Alejandro Tabilo in Santiago. Then, Ruud and Nadal will meet four more times in Belo Horizonte, Quito, Bogota and Mexico City.

“It’s something that I was honored to be invited to the Latin American tour with Rafa. I’m not going to say it’s going to be very demanding.
I think it’s going to be a lot of fun. Let’s see when I get back. I still will have many days to recover from the jet lag and whatever. I guess we are more used to it than maybe other people, to travel around, fly a lot.
The jet lag is luckily easier going there, but when you get back is where it sort of kills you. Luckily, I’ll be in good time to have some good practice days and relax a little bit before we head to Australia. But let’s see how the body reacts to it.
I found it difficult coming from the States to Europe, then I had Laver Cup, Davis Cup, then straight to Asia which I found very difficult. Hopefully I can have learned something from that trip,” Ruud said, per Tennis Majors.
In early June, Ruud clashed Nadal in his first Grand Slam final at the French Open. After losing to Nadal in the French Open final, Ruud was also beaten by Nadal at the ATP Finals in Turin. It remains to be seen how will Ruud do against Nadal during the Latin America Tour.
