Jelena Djokovic has hit out at the criticism directed at her husband Novak Djokovic, saying that some things are rather “private” than “controversial.” During Djokovic’s Paris Masters semifinal match versus Stefanos Tsitsipas, the cameras caught a Djokovic team member mixing up a drink for the Serb.
When Team Djokovic noticed they were being filmed, they tried to block a camera’s view. The video left tennis fans bewildered, with some even wondering whether Djokovic was taking some kind of a prohibited substance during the match.
“He will talk when he is ready to talk. This whole nonsense about making people speak about something they are not ready because OTHERS are unpatient is absurd. Sit a bit in silence. Mind yourself more. Not everything you see is controversial.

Jelena Djokovic defends her husband
Damian Reilly, a journalist who published the video which has since amassed 12 million views, said the actions of Team Djokovic were “amazingly dodgy.”
“I don’t see anything dodgy. In fact, I see people trying to be private about their business in a world where everyone feels like they have every right to point camera at you whenever they want. Apparently, wanting/trying to be private makes you dodgy nowadays,” Jelena Djokovic wrote in her response to Reilly.

During one of his Wimbledon matches from this year, Djokovic was caught inhaling something from his bottle.
“Magic potion. That’s all I can say. It helps. You’ll find out soon, but I can’t speak about it now,” Djokovic said after the match. After winning Wimbledon, Djokovic suggested it was just a basic supplement, which he didn’t want to reveal to public.
“It’s going to come out as one of the supplement, let’s say, lines that I’m doing right now with drink and few other things, sports drinks, et cetera. It will come out there. You’ll try it and you’ll let me know how it feels. You might win Wimbledon,” Djokovic said.
