Lewis Hamilton was born in Stevenage, in the county of Hertfordshire, to Anthony Hamilton and Carmen Larbalestier. Following the separation of the parents in 1987, Hamilton lived with his mother and half-sisters Nicola and Samantha until the age of twelve, when he decided to move in with his father, stepmother Linda and stepbrother Nicolas.
He discovered his passion for motors in 1991, after receiving an electric model car as a gift from his father. Realizing Lewis’ outstanding talent for racing, Anthony went into debt to get him into a kart, serving as his son’s manager until 2010.
In 2022 he received the honorary citizenship of Brazil. In November 2007 he participated as a guest in an episode of Top Gear, recording an amazing time of 1:44:7 (in the wet) and 1:42:9 in the dry on the program circuit. He is considered to be one of the best drivers of all time.
Together with Michael Schumacher, he is the most successful champion in the history of Formula 1, with 7 world titles won: in 2008 with McLaren and in 2014, 2015, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020 with Mercedes. He is an Arsenal fan.
He was engaged to Pussycat Dolls lead vocalist Nicole Scherzinger from November 2007 to February 2015. Since 2017 he has adopted a vegan diet and, again from that year, he has been involved in initiatives aimed at safeguarding the environment and animals.
Lewis Hamilton: between animal protection and sensational earnings
The seven-time F1 world champion would earn around 63 million euros a year between the contract with Mercedes and the sponsors, which corresponds to over 5 million a month.
The assets of the British driver would amount to approximately 285 million dollars, a figure also achieved thanks to the record sponsorships obtained with Sony, Monster Energy, Police, Puma, Tommy Hilfiger, Bose and L’Oréal.
As regards the 285 million we are talking about liquid money, therefore, the various properties, cars and all his properties are not counted. With seven world titles he is the most successful Briton of all time, as well as the only Anglo-Saxon to have managed to triumph for four consecutive editions. His race number is 44. He is also owner of the X44 Electric SUV team, in the Extreme E championship.
