Trevor Noah came back to talk about his friend Roger Federer. The Swiss Maestro hosted the South African comedian during his recent tour in Switzerland. Trevor Noah, through his Twitter profile, praises Roger: “I want to thank Roger Federer from the bottom of my heart.

It was an honor to be your guest in Switzerland, you are the most elegant man I have ever met. I know you miss playing with me, but I hope you can get back on the court and compete in my honor now that my knee is out of action.”

In the course of a recent interview with RTBF, Christopher Clarey, a well-known correspondent for the New York Times, analyzed Federer’s prospects: “After doing all this work, I believe he wants to play again in 2023 and return to Wimbledon for the ‘last time.

His glory days are over for me, but he can still play some great games if he gets back in shape. Roger is an extremely intelligent and empathetic man. He loves interacting with the outside world and does all he can to be appreciated.”

Roger Federer’s come back to the court

Federer’s appearances on the court have been very limited in the past two years, due to a serious right knee injury, the King was unable to play as much and as he would have wished in this latter part of his legendary career.

For the moment, his presence at the Laver Cup and the ATP in Basel has been confirmed. Suffice it to say that the Swiss phenomenon played just 13 official matches in 2021, collecting nine wins and four defeats. The round of 16 at Roland Garros and the quarterfinals at Wimbledon were his best seasonal results, a far too meager tally for one of the greatest ever.

A few weeks after the Championships, the 20-time Grand Slam champion announced that he had suffered a knee relapse and had an operation for the third time in 18 months. The 40-year-old from Basel has never thought about hanging up his racket and should be back in late summer or early autumn.
