Carlos Alcaraz won his second ATP Masters 1000 career in Madrid and he reached sixth position in the ATP rankings at the age of 19. The young Spanish talent is now one of the best tennis players on the ATP Tour and two champions like Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal have already expressed words of great admiration for him several times.

Djokovic said: “Carlos like the Big 3? I usually don’t like comparisons. I think everyone has the characteristics of him and is special. He is certainly a special player. He has already broken many records despite his age, winning two Masters 1000 events and a couple of 500 this year.

Right now he’s the best player in the world, without a doubt, considering his achievements. The way he handled the pressure during our match, where he kept his cool until the end, was impressive.”

Nadal, for his part, explained: “It’s not a big surprise for me.

I’m happy for him. Everyone is aware of the confidence he has right now and the level he can reach. I am happy because we have had a fantastic player in our country for a long time. It’s always special to win at home, so it has probably been a very special week for him.”

In an exclusive interview with La Nacion newspaper, Alcaraz picked out the best shots of the Big 3 and revealed what aspects of their game he would like to have. He said: “I would choose Nadal’s fighting spirit and sacrifice, his work ethic.

He doesn’t give up any points and always trains intensely. I would steal from Roger Federer the elegance and variety of shots he can use in the course of matches; while to Djokovic elasticity and physical condition.”

The 19-year-old from Murcia, after missing the BNL Internazionali d’Italia, will take the court at the Roland Garros and will try to amaze all tennis fans once again.
