Gerard Pique (35) retired from international duty after the 2018 Cup but he could return, as Luis Enrique hinted a few days ago. The coach did not call the Barça defender during this international break but the situation could well change in June on the occasion of the League of Nations, and especially the Cup at the end of the year.
Xavi says he is happy with his player’s performance and is not afraid of any additional fatigue caused by the selection. “Whether I like it or not doesn’t change anything. This is a question for Luis (Enrique). He has very clear ideas and he is a great coach. What is good is that he has a choice. I’m delighted with Pique’s performance at the moment.”
