Football Kenya Federation has been slapped with an indefinite suspension by the Fifa Congress in Qatar on Thursday morning.
The confirmation saw 198 Fifa members vote for the suspension while one voted against.
The Fifa Council suspended the FKF on February 24, 2022 with immediate effect due to third-party (government) interference.
This was after the takeover of FKF activities by a government-appointed ‘caretaker committee’ in lieu of the executive committee and general secretary, which constituted a serious violation or the Fifa Statutes.
The suspension will only be lifted once the pertinent requirements have been fulfilled. These include the return of the mandate to run football activities to the executive committee and the general secretary.
